The collections consist of donations from researchers in several departments at the University of Minnesota. Strains currently available for distribution are listed. Some strains have restrictions either because they are under study by the original depositor, and/or because they were obtained from other countries and their use requires approval. Additional strains not currently listed are maintained by the collection. Please consult the curator for explanation and availability.

University of Minnesota Mycological Culture Collection strains are distributed in accordance with the guidelines established by the Convention of Biological Diversity (CBD; http://www.biodiv.org). The Convention requires a Material Transfer Agreement (MTA) or Mutually Agreed Terms (MAT) from all researchers. Further importation and exportation permits may be required, and information can be obtained from the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA; http://www.usda.gov/) and especially the USDA Animal and Plant Health Inspection Services (APHIS; http://www.aphis.usda.gov/).

Distribution of cultures or culture material from the University of Minnesota Mycological Culture Collection to third-parties is strictly prohibited.

IT IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE REQUESTER TO OBTAIN THE APPROPRIATE AND NECESSARY PERMITS FOR THE TRANSFER OF CULTURES FROM THE UNIVERSITY OF MINNESOTA MYCOLOGICAL CULTURE COLLECTION. THIS REQUIREMENT APPLIES TO BOTH NATIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL REQUESTS.
